Header :K&A Engineering Consulting - White Plains, NYis a people-first organization.We value knowledge and learning.We believe in the power of connection, and collaboration, and we seek to build relationships that mean something.We employ some of the best and brightest in the industry and we work hard to maintain a culture that our people can be proud of.Our company has earned its reputation through challenging work, uncompromising precision and continuous learning and adapting.We strongly believe in building long lasting relationships with our clients and our employees.We love what we do, and our goal is to have the happiest clients and employees in the industry.We deliver a reliable and innovative range of services for dozens of projects around the country.The company's team members are passionate about engineering, infrastructure, and design, and understand our clients' business needs and objectives.Job OverviewResponsibilities & DutiesResponsible for management and performance of Field Construction Managers for the construction of electric substations, transmission lines, distribution lines, generation upgrades, and other projects.Determine contract resource requirements, service specifications and manage contractor performance.Manage activities related to coordination of field inspection and sign-offs for construction projects.Monitor and evaluate activities of outsourced Construction companies to ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedules and budgets, cost-effectiveness and control, and results.Develop, review and evaluate contracts and agreements affecting the project execution and functional area operations and make appropriate recommendations.Ensure that construction management is integrated into the planning, scheduling, cost tracking, construction, installation, and testing and acceptance activities.Ensure Field Construction Managers obtain all construction materials and material handling plans are established and managed.Coordinate the transmission substations and lines construction schedules with the other functional areas within the company.Provide constructability feedback on electrical, mechanical, protection and civil construction standards.Research, recommend and implement changes as necessary to be aligned with the client's Standards and Business Area goals and objectives.Participate in the ongoing budget process to provide items, manpower, and control of the construction budget.Participate in the transmission facilities construction projects negotiations and joint planning efforts with other utilities.Help lead and collaborate the activities to address or remedy substation and lines transmission system emergencies as necessary.Identify construction risk during the planning, execution and construction phases and prepare risk mitigation plans.Adhere to company policies, programs and procedures as well as Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), New England Independent System OperatorSafetyMaintain safety awareness and ensure contractors comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure a safe working environment at the construction site.Properly wear and care for applicable safety gear and equipment.Identify and communicate unsafe conditions to Contractors, Project Manager and assure safety concerns and issues are resolved.Ensure all field construction managers are managing the project and construction resources within the schedule and budget.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education with 7 years relevant experience required.A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive related electric utility industry experience.Five (5) years' experience in a supervisory capacity preferredApplicants should have the knowledge, experience, and skills needed to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA, and other regulatory statutes.Knowledge of SAP is preferredNERC CIP compliantAbility to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractorsExtensive knowledge of electric utility industry materials and equipment is a must.Able to assess the health of Utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection program.Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel, Access, Word, and MS Project.Must be able and willing to be trained in E-STAR / CONVEX (switching and tagging) trained.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust have current US Work authorization and valid US Driver License in good standingMust be willing to travel to construction sites on a day-to-day basis, attend meetingsMust be a New York resident and live in the nearby#J-*****-Ljbffr
