Join to apply for the IT Backup Administrator role at NOVThe Backup Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and recoverability of NOV's data through effective administration of backup and recovery solutions.This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional capable of troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to data protection, backup operations, and disaster recovery.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage reliable backup and recovery solutions to protect critical business data.Troubleshoot failed backups caused by software or hardware issues, coordinating with Server and Database Administrators, as well as software vendors.Perform backup and restore operations across multiple operating systems, including VMware environments.Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and system availability.Collaborate with IT teams and key stakeholders to establish data retention and archival policies.Develop and maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for all backup and recovery procedures.Provide training and support for internal teams on backup and recovery best practices.Disaster Recovery PlanningDevelop, implement, and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.Collaborate with stakeholders to align DR strategies with business objectives.Maintain and update disaster recovery documentation.Qualifications and SkillsMinimum 3 years of experience in IT systems administration, with a focus on backup and recovery.Hands-on experience managing backup and recovery solutions in medium to large-scale environments.Proficiency with backup tools such as Rubrik, CommVault, or Azure Backup.Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, VMware, Hyper-V, SQL/Oracle databases, and cloud environments.Understanding of network protocols, storage solutions, and cybersecurity principles.Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Security+, Rubrik or Commvault training) are a plus.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.Solid understanding of business continuity and data protection strategies.Excellent communication skills in English.Location RequirementCandidates must currently reside in Monterrey or its metropolitan area.Please note that NOV does not provide relocation assistance for this position, and only local applicants will be considered.Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustries: IT System Data Services, IT Services and IT Consulting, and IT System Operations and MaintenanceReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at NOV by 2x#J-*****-Ljbffr
