Ui/Ux Engineer

Intersog is a Chicago-based provider of software engineering, custom development, and IT consulting solutions.We help companies address IT talent by building dedicated software development teams locally in the USA, Canada, or Mexico, or in our R&D centers in Ukraine.We are currently looking for a talented UI/UX Engineer to join our dynamic team.In this role, you will be responsible for creating user-centric designs and ensuring an excellent user experience across various platforms.Your insights and designs will play a crucial role in shaping the digital solutions we deliver to our clients.As a UI/UX Engineer, you will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into visually appealing and functional designs.You will also conduct user research and usability testing to ensure that the products meet user needs and expectations.**Requirements**:**User Research**:- Conduct targeted interviews and surveys with scientists and lab operators to understand their needs, workflows, and pain points- Synthesize findings rapidly to inform design decisions for prioritized features- Focus on high-impact touchpoints within the software that will significantly enhance user experience and ensure designs for these components align with overall user needs and project goals**UX Design**:- Develop low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes for the selected key components to facilitate quick feedback cycles.- Utilize iterative design approaches to refine prototypes based on user and stakeholder input- Design intuitive user experiences for complex scientific workflows and automation systems**UI Design**:- Establish a design framework to ensure a cohesive look and feel across the software- Create and document essential UI components for consistency in design and functionality with a focus on reusable components- Usability Testing on Key Features- Develop prototypes using preferred design tools (eg. Figma, Sketch - some lead time required to acquire software design tool)- Conduct usability testing sessions focused on the key components to gather immediate feedback and make necessary adjustments.- Iterate on designs based on testing results to enhance user experience- Collaboration and Feedback- Work closely with remote engineering teams to ensure designs can be implemented within the project timeline and technical constraints.- Provide clear design specifications and be available for quick clarifications during the development process**Communication**:- Maintain ongoing communication with the Director of Strategy to ensure alignment on project priorities and timelines.- Regularly update stakeholders on design progress, challenges, and solutions**Documentation**:- Provide clear design specifications, user flows, and guidelines for the development team- Document design decisions, principles, and best practices to ensure scalability and continuity**Qualifications**:- Experience in life sciences, preferably laboratory automation, with a solid understanding of user needs in this context- Proficiency in design prototyping tools- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate with remote teams and engage effectively with diverse user groups, including non-native English speakers- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and drive the design process forward**Benefits**1.
