Discovery Media Platform Operations (MPO) organization, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of technical infrastructure programs across the enterprise that will transform the company’s global IT infrastructure capabilities to a world-class level. In this role, you will manage the strategy, planning, budget development, and execution of a portfolio of key MPO infrastructure projects including, but not limited to: network and infrastructure modernization; data facility build-outs, office relocations, consolidations and/or closures, etc. Your Role Accountabilities Manage significant and unique infrastructure programs and workstreams of size and complexity Responsible for overseeing all aspects of multi-year programs (Cloud Migration, Infrastructure Refreshes and Upgrade, Data Center Exits) Participate in strategic planning for infrastructure programs Lead the process of gathering project requirements and developing solutions Assist management with special assignments, such as evaluating vendors, gathering/evaluating consultant proposals, or other responsibilities as requested Stakeholder Relationship Manages project communications and escalations Coordinates and facilitates Operating Steering (OSC) and Executive Steering Committees (ESC) Broker relationship between business and application groups to translate infrastructure requirements and scope definition Guides MPO and Non-MPO team members on infrastructure planning and deployment strategies Qualifications & Experiences 8+ years of experience of managing multiple technical, network and infrastructure related projects Familiarity and knowledge of technical aspects of infrastructure components (network, servers, storage, cloud, data center, etc.) Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of technical and non-technical staff. Able to establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through to completion. Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and problem resolution in a cross-functional team. Able to drive the definition of project scope, develop detailed project plans, and facilitate the collection of engineering, operational, and business requirements. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Able to clearly, concisely, and regularly communicate status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders. Able to function effectively and consistently when faced with frequently changing and sometimes ambiguous goals. Demonstrable experience of delivering projects on time and on budget. Flexibility to work multiple shifts as needed to support project delivery.
