For over 75 years, BIC has been creating ingeniously simple and joyful products that are a part of every heart and home.As a member of our team, you'll be a part of reigniting a beloved brand as we continue to reimagine everyday essentials in new, sustainable and responsible ways.Our "roll up your sleeves and get the job done" approach to work creates an environment where self-starters, problem solvers and innovative thinkers thrive.BIC team members are empowered to take ownership of their careers and bring their unique perspectives to the table to make a meaningful impact on our mission.It's a colorful world - make your mark by joining the BIC team today.As a Buyer in our Manufacturing Plant, you will play a critical role in the procurement process, ensuring that our production needs are met efficiently and effectively.Your primary responsibilities will include generating purchase orders, contacting suppliers, and providing ongoing support to Supply Managers.You will work closely with various departments to coordinate material requirements and facilitate smooth operations.What You'll Do:- Generate and manage purchase orders for both urgent and non-urgent materials.- Contact and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing.- Support Supply Managers in monitoring inventory levels and material availability.- Collaborate with the Planning team to address material requests, changes, and confirmations.- Work closely with Packaging Engineering to oversee changes in packaging specifications, such as the orange BIC color and art authorizations.- Liaise with the Traffic department to track the import of materials, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation.Projects You'll Work On:- **Planning Team**: Coordinate material requests and adjustments to ensure production continuity.- **Packaging Engineering**: Collaborate on packaging changes and approvals to meet design and regulatory standards.- **Traffic Department**: Follow up on import processes and manage shipping documentation for materials.What We're Looking For In You:- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.- At least 2-3 years of experience in a buyer or purchasing role for direct.- Familiarity with inventory management practices and supply chain processes.- Experience working with packaging specifications and regulatory standards is a plus.- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.- Knowledge of import/export processes and shipping documentation is desirable.- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple purchase orders and priorities.- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various departments and external suppliers.- **Advanced Level of English - MUST**BIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We strongly commit to hiring people with different backgrounds and experiences to help us build better products, make better decisions, and better serve our customers.We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability status, or similar characteristics.All employment is decided based on qualifications, merit, and business need.
