Etsy is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of our ML Orchestration teams which is part of the Machine Learning Initiative under the Enablement engineering organization. Are you interested in empowering the growth of millions of small businesses? Excited about working at scale but keeping the uniqueness of our shops and inventory top of mind? Join us As a Manager on the team, you will be responsible for closely collaborating with your product partner to drive the technical roadmap for our Machine Learning Orchestration systems, powering the foundational layers of search, recommendations, and ads for our marketplace. You will work to expand orchestration to other internal clients at Etsy like Trust and Safety, Payments or Fulfillment. We work closely with product teams and platform site reliability engineers to deliver a robust and scalable system to serve our 100+ million listings to our buyers. This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. What does the day-to-day look like? On a day to day basis you will be responsible for the development process and the delivery of the goals. Serve as a coach, mentor and technical advisor to your direct reports. Define and execute your team's long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap. Establish and drive OKRs that clearly define the goals and success metrics for your team. Partner with your product manager to create a technical roadmap aligned with the product's strategy. Attract, hire, and retain an amazing team of high-caliber machine learning engineers and nurture their career growth through effective coaching and mentorship. Foster a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous delivery on your teams. Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to facilitate project planning and execution. Qualifications You strive to understand your customers and keep them at the center of the solutions you build. You have a passion for building data related products and understand good systems design. 3+ year experience directly managing engineers - including providing leadership, mentorship, feedback, and investing in their career growth. You promote growth and learning on the team - you put our engineers first. You are passionate about solving challenging problems with a relentless focus on positively impacting our stakeholders' experience.
