**Career Area**:Purchasing & Procurement**Ideas matter.Bring yours to life here.**Design machines that dig, load and haul autonomously.Run digital simulations predicting how yet-to-be-built components will perform in the field.Use 3D printing to create parts that can be produced more sustainably.In all these ways and many more, Caterpillar engineers conceptualize ideas that become real-world products in our factories—and make progress possible around the globe.We hire engineers from all disciplines, specifically seeking:- Intelligent, hands-on problem solvers- Good communicators who can articulate complex ideas- Go-getters willing to get involved and take the initiative- Innovators with a passion for new ideas and continuous improvement**Job Purpose**:This role is fundamentally managing supply network related activities focused on in-coming supplier quality responding to the daily quality issues found in the manufacturing facility.A sense of urgency is vital.Ensure zero defect material and services flow for the facility from source to dock and additional required points.The objective is to ensure manufacturing operations can continue without a detrimental impact caused by a supplier quality issue.From the initial concern the SNQE will confirm the problem and determine a short-term action plan with the facility management and the supplier.The objective being to ensure the manufacturing operations can continue operations without a detrimental impact to the process from a quality perspective.In conclusion the job manages the Corrective Action Process on Supplier Related Quality Issues.Deliver Global Leverage with Local Service Excellence.**Job Duties**:- Major Role: - Accountable for operating and monitoring the Global Supply Network, as designed, to meet the defined quality targets enabling optimal and efficient facility operations, collaborating with business partners and suppliers as the Relationship Manager for all GSND, and resolving facility specific supplier quality issues.From the initial concern, the Supply Network Quality Engineer will identify, contain and ultimately eliminate the defect.Skills that will be required include Root-Cause-Corrective-Action Analysis (RCCA), 8D, rework and containment plans, and strong communication and collaboration with suppliers.- Customer: - Using ' both facility based and global supply network' reporting systems (QSI, ISIR's, QCIR's, MRDR's, POU documentation) this position will communicate supplier corrective action details to ensure that the customer is totally confident in Containment and Final Corrective Action Plans.- Leadership: - This position has no direct reports.The incumbent must exhibit strong leadership qualities to ensure that suppliers agree to and deliver Containment Action and facilitate Program Timing and Final Corrective Action, in accordance with the 8D process.Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization.- Supplier Management: - Responsible for maintaining accountability with the suppliers to establish containment plans related to quality discrepancies.Will ensure the supplier is developing corrective action plans to enable operations to continue with minimum disruption.**Background / Experience**:- Bachelor's degree related to engineering- 3 years of Engineering or manufacturing experience plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies for Caterpillar Products.- Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures- Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside of Caterpillar.- Solid ability to use and demonstrate statistical and problem solving tools is required.- Fluent English**Final details****All qualified individuals - Including minorities, females, and individuals with disabilities - are encouraged to apply.**Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).Not ready to apply?Submit your information to our Talent Network here.
