Engineering Manager

SUMMARY Manage the resources of the Engineering department, responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment or plants. Handles all engineering projects and assists in solving engineering problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Administration of Engineering Resources in order to provide the necessary support to the different Business Units. It ensures that the Work Instructions (Visual Aids) are available for the different Production Areas, as well as in the implementation of new products and start-up of new lines. Guarantees the availability of the Production Equipment (Conveyors, Wave Solders, Press Fit Machines, Router, etc.) always seeking to keep the equipment working at 100% Supervises that there are Preventive Maintenance plans, as well as that they are carried out in the specified time Support in the Coordination of programs such as : ISO , Environmental Control and Safety, as well as Quality Circles Establish programs for the continuous improvement of the Different Business Units, as well as ensure the Standardization of said continuous improvements throughout the Plant. Ensures the correct and effective implementation of the ECO's or ECN's (Engineering Changes) Participates and makes sure to provide the information regarding Process Engineering for the Monthly Costing of Products related to certain clients (DF Template). Participate in drills and follow Emergency Response procedures in the event of a contingency. Contribute to compliance with the Environmental Management System (ISO ). Provide feedback on changes in Legislation identified in the practice of their daily activities, regarding Health, Environment and Occupational Medicine. When determining the Training Needs of the personnel, consider what is pertinent in Environmental, Industrial Safety and Health issues. Comply and ensure that their subordinates comply with the applicable environmental legal requirements in their area, ethical responsibility, work safety, the company's internal work regulations, and any other law applicable to its operation. It is also the employee's responsibility to notify their immediate supervisor if they become aware of any deviation from these laws or regulations. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Engineering career. 10 years of experience in the maquiladora industry (preferably electronic products). Management of engineering and manufacturing resources. (Time, space, personnel and raw material). Ability to Manage Department Resources, define priorities and manage several projects at the same time Experience in Transfer of New ProductsKnowledge in the calculation of Production Standards Head Count Analysis, Productivity and Efficiency. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing (SMED, Kanban, Pokayoke, JIT, OPF, Kaisen) Experience in Continuous Improvement Practices Basic knowledge in the operation of PLC's, Electrical Control, Wave Solders, Press Fit Machines, Routers, Conveyors Analysis and solution of problems English (80%) Basic Auto-Cad Management of computer programs (Microsoft office) Effective presentations Management of Microsoft Project Authorization for the Design of Production Processes Authorization to require new equipment, spare parts, facilities Authority to redesign the current layout or new proposals Assign responsibility and authority to the personnel under their charge to ensure compliance with the EMS.
