DESCRIPTIONAmazon Devices Supply Chain Technologies org develops and supports systems and processes that make planning, manufacturing, launching and supporting our devices as efficient and frictionless as possible.We own and build platforms to support everything from Supply Planning, Materials Management, Product Lifecycle Management to supply chain, among others.Come join the team that helps Amazon invent and innovate the Amazon Devices Supply chain and work with the best and the brightest in the industryWe are looking for a talented Software Development Manager to lead Amazon Devices Cost Management Systems team.The DCM team designs, builds and maintains software systems that manage and automate the component price and Device cost related processes.Its north star is to provide a best-in-class cost management system that helps Amazon build high quality products in cost efficient way for the customerKey job responsibilitiesThe Software Development Manager who will lead a team of software engineers in building innovative solutions for Amazon.As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, development, test, and deployment of our software and services.A day in the lifeThe Role: As a software development manager, your responsibilities include:- Mentor and develop your team of engineers- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment- Collaborate with multiple business stakeholder, engineering and design teams to coordinate, prioritize and deliver to an ambitious roadmapBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of engineering experience- 3+ years of engineering team management experience- Experience partnering with product or program management teams- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems- Bachelor's degree- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems- Experience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 10+ years of experience developing software- 5+ years of experience managing people- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers- Experience taking complex projects from initial concept through final launch.- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests and recommend alternative technical and business approaches- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Experience working with supply chain and/or manufacturing operations systems- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
