And so much more.Come break through with us.Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role PurposeExecute plant PEx & Lean strategy to meet and exceed plant & business objectivesPartner with groups below to define, develop, and deploy initiatives that drive operations excellence: Regional PEx/Lean OCS Global PEx/LeanLead / be the role model for ensuring:that appropriate statistical analysis, engineering principals, and the scientific method are applied in PEx problem solving and decision-making projectsa Lean culture is established managing continuous improvement throughout the value streams within the plant. This includes foundational and transformational leanKey ResponsibilitiesReports to Plant Manager, collaborates with Regional PEx Champion and OCS Global PEx Champion, to define and execute a consistent strategy for the following:PEx (including Lean) development for GB and BBTraining, coaching, mentoring, and recognizing our belts in the plantBelt certification standards and utilizationBelt effectiveness including targets and goalsDevelopment and deployment of new PEx tools and conceptsDevelopment of future GBs and BBsAssessing and driving appropriate application of technical rigor throughout the PEx portfolioLead project teams across multiple initiatives that span various product lines within the plant to achieve key objectives in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Moral, Safety, and InnovationTeaches/facilitates PEx belt coursesCommunicate PEx roadmap (including Lean) deployment to the Plant Leadership TeamsLead execution of the plant PEx roadmapSupport the QiA/ Houghton Award application processTrack the PEx Savings against target; develop trip wires and manage action plansProvides direction for plant leadership team and project leaders requiring use of mentoring, training, and development of skillsMust be a self-starter, influential and experienced leader, able to work in team environment and motivate othersMay assist in Cost Reduction planning and executionExperiences/Education - RequiredBachelor of Science degree in an Engineering fieldLean Six Sigma Black Belt certificate (or Master Black Belt)Desired: Masters (MBA, Engineering) degree+7 years of manufacturing experience+2 years management experience Leadership Experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or OperationsKnowledge and experience with project planning tools such as MS Project, risk analysis, and decision analysisExcellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skillsTraining and facilitation skillsFully bilingualCorning Puts YOU FirstWe are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential.
