DESCRIPTIONAmazon is a fast paced, dynamic, high-tech company.The LATAM Stores Accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, and also supports new business launches for Amazon in the consumer products, initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics and payments.A day in the lifePayments Accounting at Amazon is a specialized team responsible for handling all payments processed globally, including various payment products like Gift Cards, Credit Cards, Pay By Invoice, Shop With Points, Amazon Coins, and Amazon Currency Converter.The Payments Operational Accounting team is responsible for day-to-day operations, such as recording journal entries, performing reconciliations and analytics, implementing process improvements, and supporting key stakeholders.About the teamAt Amazon Mexico we value Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in all our job positions, therefore, we act intentionally so that our internal environment reflects the plurality of the businesses we play and the customers we serve.In Mexico, we have a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion squad, which is formed by representatives from different roles and areas, as we understand that this agenda must have different perspectives and multiple experiences.Our leadership is committed and understands more and more their role in sharing and acting on our leadership principles, with the purpose of 'Strive to Be Earth's Best Employer'.Understanding our responsibility and our need for change, we are conscientious that 'Success and Scale Bring Broad Responsibility'Our affinity groups are built from and by volunteers from different businesses and they are an active part of our DE&I strategies definition.Besides that, they act as ambassadors of this agenda, and they will support you from Day1.Remember, at Amazon 'It's always Day1'.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field- 8+ years of controllership or compliance experience- 8+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience- 8+ years of transactional accounting field experience- 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis- Thorough knowledge of International, Mexican and U.S. GAAP (including the FASB Codification) and related research tools- Experience with accounting closing process, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations and financial statements- Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- CPA, or MBA- Experience of project management and an understanding of project management concepts- Operational accounting experience with international companies- Experience handling big amount of data and concepts of data analytics and SQL is desirable
