Accountant

**Classification **Exempt**Reports to **Director of Accounting**Summary/Objective**Core Molding Technologies Inc., a publicly traded company on the NYSE Amex (ticker CMT) headquartered in Columbus, Ohio with six plants across the United States, Mexico and Canada, is seeking an Corporate General Accountant to join the Company's Accounting/Finance team.The team is primarily responsible for forecasting, budgeting, reporting and analysis to enable the Company's leadership to make key decisions.The team aims to deliver high quality, relevant, timely and accurate financial and non-financial information to enable key decision making and strategic direction.The group is designed to provide highly motivated and skilled individuals career development opportunities at a growing company.This role will part of accounts receivable and general accounting functions to ensure timely collections of customer invoices and ensure timely month-end close procedures.**Essential Functions**- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions._- Manage account receivable truck customers.- Record and manage daily cash entries.- Manage intercompany cross charge between plants.- Recommend improvements to accounts receivable processes.- Plan, organize, and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.- Prepare balance sheets and assist with bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.- Perform monthly review and analysis of internal P&L's.- Provide GL support and analysis to plant cost accountants.- Set up new parts in ERP system (Epicor CMS).- Review routinely quote versus BOM for parts within plants.- Ensure company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and assist with interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards.- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements.- Provide accounting guidance to personnel in operations (plant management, engineers, etc.).**Competencies**Business Acumen, Communication, Consultation, Critical Evaluation, Global & Cultural Awareness, Relationship Management, Ethical Practice.**Supervisory Responsibility**N/A**Work Environment**This job operates in a professional manufacturing office and shop floor environment.This role routinely uses standard office equipment.**Physical Demands**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**This is a full-time position.Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.This position may occasionally require extended hours and/or weekend work.**Travel**This role is not expected to travel.**Required Education, Skills, and Experience**- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting- Three years of experience in finance or related field- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to routinely interact with executive leadership- Hands on, can do attitude, results orientated, highly organized, detail-oriented with an ability to navigate complex, deadline driven processes- Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite of products required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)**Preferred Education, Qualifications, and Experience****Other Duties**Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
