SAP BASIS Consultant

OverviewJoin to apply for the SAP BASIS Consultant role at InfosysInfosys is seeking SAP Basis & HANA DB administration Consultant, with experience in SAP Upgrade, System Refresh, System Copy, setting up new SAP landscape, CHARM integration with ECC, other integrations with SAP, scheduling batch jobs, maintenance, & escalation of issues to respective teams. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot issues and provide support as needed.ResponsibilitiesProvide SAP Basis administration for SAP ECC, HANA DB, Solution Manager, etc.Assist with SAP HANA DB administration for ECC and other database systems.Support operating systems such as Linux, AIX and Windows servers; participate in HA/DR setups.Perform system refreshes, backups and restores in various databases.Assist with SAP system upgrades and patches.Develop, analyze and troubleshoot SAP system issues; monitor and tune performance.Coordinate with teams to troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed.Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with attention to detail.QualificationsBasicBachelor’s / Engineering degree. Will also consider a minimum of three-four years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.At least 5-7 years of experience with Information Technology.At least 5-7 years of experience working with SAP ECC.At least 3 years of experience with SAP HANA DB.PreferredExperience with SAP Basis administration for SAP ECC, HANA DB, Solution Manager, etc.Experience with SAP HANA DB for ECC and other database systems.Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, AIX and Windows servers.Familiarity with clustered OS environments; work in HA/DR set-up.Perform system refreshes, backups and restoration in various databases.Experience with SAP system upgrades and patches.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Certifications in SAP administration or related areas.Proven experience as an SAP Administrator or in a similar role.Strong understanding of SAP architecture and modules.Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving SAP system issues.Experience with system monitoring and tuning.Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.Knowledge of SAP best practices.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Desired (Nice to have)Knowledge of interface scheduling, file transfer job scheduling, BW process chains, job scheduling for Unix etc.Provide day-to-day management: modify, add, and delete jobs/interfaces and daily monitoring for production systems.Setup processes/procedures for batch job notifications, alerts and monitoring/escalation.Knowledge on SAP Basis administration.Basis monitoring such as SAP system performance, dumps, file-system growth, job monitoring, process monitoring, user response times, locks monitoring, releasing locks, backup monitoring, etc.Experience troubleshooting performance and space-related issues in SAP system.Experience working on AIX, Linux, Windows systems.Ability to document regular procedures.Ability to understand client requirements and perform the activity as required.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer-impacting issues in a global delivery environment.Experience in creating scripts to automate repetitive tasks in networks, systems and data management.Assists in maintenance, creation and testing of Level 1 Runbooks.Escalates functionally and hierarchically as required per SOPs.Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.Analytical skills and willingness to work in a Global delivery environment.Job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods; able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.About UsInfosys is a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting.
