About LevitonAt Leviton, we build what's next to light, power, and connect everyday spaces, from electrical to lighting, to data networks, and energy management.With over 115 years of history, Leviton develops thoughtful solutions that help make its customers' lives easier, safer, more efficient, and more productive.We recognize that our people are our greatest asset.We ASK questions, EMBRACE challenges, SEEK new perspectives, and ANTICIPATE what comes next.It's about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly changing world.About The RoleThe primary purpose of this position is to provide Supplier Quality Engineering support to ensure the successful performance of Leviton's supply chain.Will be expected to apply his/her knowledge of quality systems and quality engineering techniques to monitor and improve supplier performance as required.This individual will drive root cause analysis and corrective actions relating to material/process improvements and component issues.This individual will also be responsible for conducting Supplier Quality audits.This individual will also be responsible for supporting validation activities for new items from suppliers as required and leading supplier development activities as required.ResponsibilitiesDrive supplier performance that meets or exceeds DPPM quality goals established by the business including targets created for each supplierLeverage corrective action process (8D), supplier audits, ensure supplier compliance and drive supplier improvement plans in conjunction with Commodity Managers, Buyers, and Plant QualityDevelop and improve supplier quality relationships and performance for assigned suppliers through continued communication and site visits to ensure the highest quality manufacturing processesResponsible for new product and design change part approval through First Article Review, parts measurement, verification, and validation of test resultsPerform on-site supplier Quality System and Process auditsWork with suppliers to develop inspection plans that ensure quality metrics are met and align with Leviton specifications (including significant characteristics)Promote the use of techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and 5-Why Root Cause AnalysisDeliver training of quality awareness and best practices to support and lead process improvement / development activities at the supplierMonitor supplier production by conducting in-process and end-of-line source inspectionsManage immediate quality issues through cross functional collaboration; confirm supplier quality issues do not put production at riskFacilitate and/or lead quality problem solving (8D) activities with suppliers to prevent recurrenceEstablish short- and long-term quality plans and work with Suppliers, Sourcing, Internal Engineering and Plant teams to drive corrective and preventive quality initiatives in the supply baseBe a subject matter expert on the manufacturing methods of specific commodity categories such as stampings, plastics, fasteners, etc.Monitor, communicate, and improve supplier KPI's (DPPM, OTD, etc.)Foster a mentality of "Zero Defect's" with Leviton suppliersEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Material Science, Electronics, Industrial or Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering requiredExpertise in ISO**** Quality Systems6-Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification, preferredMinimum of 3 - 5 years' Engineering or Supplier Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with ERP, preferably Oracle EBS Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skillsExperience working in a matrix environmentProficiency in MS Office including Excel, PPT, and WordThe future looks brighter than ever.Join our team nowSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionQuality AssuranceIndustriesAppliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing#J-*****-Ljbffr
