Job SummaryThe Mechanical Design Engineer plays a pivotal role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative product designs that meet customer requirements.Key Responsibilities:- Apply engineering fundamentals and organizational principles to make informed decisions on complex technical issues.- Develop a detailed understanding of market trends and their implications for business growth.- Proactively challenge the organization to improve quality and performance related to engineering design.- Participate and drive product strategy initiatives.- Maintain accurate product documentation, including drawings and specifications.- Engage directly with customers to gather product specification requirements, schedule expectations, and budget considerations.- Conduct corrosion research and welding characterization while demonstrating a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermo, and heat transfer.- Utilize advanced knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals, and product test processes.- Familiarity with various manufacturing methods, including welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding, and forming.Possess a basic understanding of core manufacturing processes.- Lead mechanical design activities while participating in cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) teams.- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply teams to assist with design prototype builds and production validation activities.- possess familiarity with design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handlingRequirements and Qualifications:- University degree required or equivalent relevant work experience.- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple competing tasks and demands.- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.- Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve results.- Personal and professional ethical values and integrity.- Self-accountability to achieving goals and standards- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
