Senior Generator Turbine Application Engineer

**Job Description Summary**: Develop proposal content providing value to our customers and GE Vernova while minimizing risks and offering standardized products where possible to avoid un-necessary customization.Adhere to GE Vernova HDGT standard work policies and procedures.and drive consistent functional specifications and common global processes for projects implementation.Has significant input into priorities.Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role.The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.**Roles and Responsibilities**- Be responsible to coordinate the timely evaluation of customer requirements, typically via review of the customer or EPC provided request for proposal (RFP) to ensure proper selection of GE Generator Scope of supply items- Be responsible to evaluate and develop comments and exceptions to the RFP identifying how the GE equipment is compliant or where GE equipment does not fully meet the customer specification- Perform analysis of customer conditions to develop or assist in the development of the Generator ne Performance model- Identify customer requested special requirements and develop strategies with engineering/sourcing teams that provide competitive solutions to these requirements with 100% timeliness to business need- Coordinate strategies with Engineering, Product Finance, Commercial Operations and Product Line Leadership.Participate in the "R" process and maintain a close alignment with Proposal- Develop expertise in CPQ/PCS Processes documenting customer specific product configurations and assisting in developing costing to be used in the proposal process.Must be able to clearly communicate the strategy that led to both the configuration and costing details contained within the ITO proposal- Assist to create the technical portion of the Customer Proposal Document including defining scope of supply (Configuration) and Costing for the Generator equipment including accessory equipment- Responsible for the technical content and cost of Customer Special Requirements to support proposals, working with the Commercial Operations, Sourcing and Design Engineering teams to provide competitive solutions to customer requests- Assist to evaluate customer site requirements and develop a project specific generator performance model.- Attend internal project meetings to establish strategies for winning and customer meetings to clarify technical aspects during negotiations with the customer- Maintain an awareness of cognizant product offerings and configuration features- Support GE productivity and quality initiatives - Ensure the on-time completion of all assigned and proposal activities including business initiatives for Quality, Cost, Reliability, Performances, etc- Recognize and communicate issues with project schedules or requirements sufficiently early so actions can be taken to resolve those items- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.Serves as best practice/quality resource.Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.Takes new perspective on existing solutions.Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.**Required Qualifications**- This role requires a min of 5-7 years of experience in the Engineering/Technology & Customer Application expertise or related Generator / Gas Power equipment.- Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience)**Desired Characteristics**- Strong oral and written communication skills.- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.This position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 15%This posting is expected to close October 25thHealthcare benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage; access to a Health Coach, a 24/7 nurse-based resource; and
