Senior Site Reliability Engineer Join Canonical, a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, to help push global enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation and IoT. Location: Globally remote role. This is a mid‑senior level, full‑time engineering position. Role Overview We run hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters for customers across physical and public cloud estate. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will architect and run OpenStack, Kubernetes and software‑defined storage, and enable dev‑sec‑ops for applications running on our infrastructure. Responsibilities Design and implement automation using pure Python infra‑as‑code across bare‑metal to containers. Operate and maintain Kubernetes, OpenStack, OpenStack, software‑defined storage clusters and related infrastructure. Drive upgrades and ensure customers run the latest, best solutions in a secure, highly available manner. Measure and report on operations using metrics and data‑driven analysis. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a high‑pressure, mission‑critical environment. Qualifications Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Experience with Linux, networking, and storage. Proven expertise in Python software development. Operational experience in cloud or data‑center environments. Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability. Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long. Nice‑to‑have skills Experience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operations. Familiarity with public or private cloud management.
