At Canva, we celebrate diversity.We deeply believe that bringing together diversity of thoughts, perspectives and expression is key to building the best product, team and company.We look for many different skills and abilities, as well as how you can enhance Canva and our culture.So, even if you don't think you quite meet all of the skills listed or tick all the boxes, we'd still love to hear from you- Our mission at Canva is to empower the world to design and since launching in ****, we have grown exponentially, amassing over 110+ million monthly active users across 190 different countries and a team of over 3,400 peopleand the best bit is that we've only achieved 1% of what we know we're capable of.- Be a part of the project and design your future.- We are looking for a talented- **Freelance Content Specialist **to support the growth of Canva's Content Library for MexicoThe Content Specialist provides initiative, direction, and support to build the best template library in the world through one of the most crucial aspects of a design: it's content.You'll be working closely with a vibrant and friendly team consisting of a Creative Lead, Copywriters, and Designers in charge of the many template campaigns that the product has to offer.This is an opportunity to strategise and develop exceptional ideas from the ground up, influence the product's overall direction, and create fresh, relevant, and usable content for our users.- This is an awesome opportunity for Senior Copywriters looking for the next step in their career, or experienced Copy Editors or Content Strategists looking to take their craft to a product platform- #LI-remote #LI-JRW**What you'll do**:- Editing existing templates according to the quality standards provided by our team of designers- Build template projects alongside the local Creative Lead and move the needle through thorough research based on an understanding and analysis of user data- Hands-on copy assigning, reviewing, editing, and creation across different content categories such as presentations, brochures, cards, infographics, and more for the Mexico Team.- Review the copy created by our team of copywriter-contractors weekly, as well as create copy briefs, distribute assignments, provide feedback, and monitor their progress.- Champion daily content and coordination requirements for templates and ensure that all our weekly copies are requested and reviewed on time.- Improve style and tone in copy delivery on a weekly basis and inform new style guides as and when needed for our swiftly growing content library.**What we're looking for**:- You have intermediate to professional understanding and work experience in copywriting and copy editing, developing a keen appreciation of local and international writing trends- You have an excellent grasp of the local language (Spanish), technically strong with a flair for either structured or creative style of writing- You're based in Mexico and ideally available 5 days per week for a 6-9 month project- You enjoy writing and editing a variety of different topics (from greeting cards to promotional copies, business presentations, creative newsletters and the like)- You possess a strong eye for detail in order to catch typos, grammatical lapses and the different nuances of requested topics- You have a curiosity to dig into content & research- You are confident in giving helpful and constructive feedback, as well as coaching, to offsite copywriters- It's a bonus if you have experience with SEO & data and are an avid Canva user**About the Project**- Canva is on a mission to democratise design through the localisation of our products - and one of the ways we're doing that is by making sure we have a library full of high-quality, market-bespoke contents for all of our key markets.It's not enough just to have content that is translated from English, we want to be sure that all users have access to content that reflects the design aesthetics and trends in their market.- As Canva's reach continues to skyrocket, we aim to make Canva the go-to place for all design needs on the web.This involves providing our millions of users with the best design and copy, to give them a clear understanding of how best they can use our customisable templates and elements.- We make decisions to engage contractors based on your experience, skills and passion.Please note that contractor-accreditation meetings are conducted virtually.When you signify interest in the Project, please tell us the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may need during the contractor-accreditation interview process.Freelance Content Specialist Lead | Mexico (remote)
