Company OverviewPeople power our future.That is why advancing a dynamic, inclusive environment, where everyone grows and thrives is critically important to us.Our ingenuity fuels daily life.Together, we've forged some of the most trusted partnerships across the energy value chain to make what was once just an idea a reality: laying subsea infrastructure thousands of feet below sea level, installing offshore platforms hundreds of miles from shore, and using our expertise to design and build offshore wind infrastructure.For more than 100 years, we've been making the impossible possible.Today, we're driving the energy transition with more than 30,000 of the brightest minds across 54 countries.Here, what you do matters.Job OverviewThe Electrical Designer provides solutions to problems in the Electrical Design discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and / or scientific procedures.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesInterconnection and wiring diagramsBlock diagramsOne-line diagramsMotor control schematicsElectrical building and equipment layoutsBills of MaterialCable sizing calculationsArea classification drawingsUG / AG power plansLighting plansLighting design calculationsCable sizingGrounding Plans3D Electrical modeling (SOFTWARE AVEVA E3D)Prepare and develop arrangement and detail FEED, studies, and detail design drawings of high technical quality and professional consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction.Assist in the preparation of 3D models.Ensure work complies with MDR and project QA and / or QC systems and procedures.Continue developing skills to efficiently complete repetitive tasksManage own time to meet deadlines set by othersBecome fully familiar with including the identifying Contract Scope concerns of as Work, early as specifications, practicable, schedule, and all inter-disciplineRecognize changes to scope and notify the Discipline Lead DesignerInterface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designsInterface with other disciplines to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawingsLiaise with other discipline support groups to ensure clearly defined interfaces, deliverables, and schedules are metDocument substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions), and forward copies to the Discipline Lead Designer and Discipline SupervisorAssist Discipline Lead Designer in preparing estimates for proposals and job scope changesReview all project design documentation for detailed technical interfacesResearch Customer standards and procedures to prepare project-specific design procedures and standards for submission to the Customer for approvalSet up the Discipline Master design drawing and document filesPrepare Discipline deliverables such as: Detailed design drawingsAs-built drawingsReview drawings issued by other disciplines and incorporate the required data into Discipline drawingsReview vendor drawings and documents and incorporate required vendor data into Discipline drawings and documentsPerform design verification through single discipline checks (SOC) and assist with inter-discipline checks (IDC), providing comments to the Lead DesignerPrepare, issue, and update material and weight data take-offsAssist Fabrication as required in the resolution of construction difficulties relating to design problems, clashes, etc.Monitor progress and maintain the deliverables register on an ongoing basisEnsure compliance with the Project Execution Plan and the timely completion and archiving of drawings and documentsKeep the Lead Designer and / or Senior Designer apprised of all activities, progress, and concernsParticipate in design reviews and auditsCapture lessons learned and entered them into MDR's Lessons Learned systemDevelop a basic understanding of MDR's business and the customers it servesPrepare Electrical Design deliverables such as: One-line diagramsSchematicsInterconnection and wiring diagramsBlock diagramsArea classification drawingsConduit and cable schedulesPower layout drawingsEarthing / grounding layout drawingsLighting layout drawingsElectrical cable tray drawingsElectrical building drawingsElectrical support drawingsElectrical drawing indexesLighting design calculationsCable sizingPrepare bills of material and perform material take-offs for electrical items including cables, lighting fixtures, cable trays, cable glands, termination kits, and MCTsReports to :Project : Lead DesignerFunctional : Supervising Department ManagerLiaise With : Electrical Engineers, other Electrical Designers, and Senior Electrical DesignersSupervises : May be required to assist or provide guidance to trainee designersEssential Qualifications and EducationHigh#J-*****-Ljbffr
