To achieve our ambition, we are looking for colleagues who are ready to join us on this journey Tomorrow can’t wait, let’s shape it together British American Tobacco Mexico has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer in Monterrey As a Data Engineer supporting the LATAM North DRBU, you will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making for Customer Experience (CX) and One Source projects. You will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures that ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality data is available for analytics and business intelligence.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support CX and One Source initiatives. Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security. Collaborate with business stakeholders, BI teams, and IT to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. Enable self-service analytics by ensuring data is accessible and well-documented.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability. Support data governance, documentation, and compliance with internal and external standards. Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new data technologies and tools. Ensure timely delivery of data assets to support business reporting and analytics needs.

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across functions and suppliers to ensure that the solution is working as expected and data is accurate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role. Proficiency in building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Python, SQL, PySpark, or similar.

Experience

with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow). Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database management. Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills in English.
