CNC Technician Department: Research & Development Employment Type: Full Time Location: MEX-Juarez-Plant #2 P Description Purpose The CNC Technician is dedicated to providing support within the tool room areas, performing basic, intermediate and complex activities: Machining (cutting, sandblasting, tempering, milling, turning, grinding), Maintenance (equipment cleaning, equipment lubrication), Administrative (exit passes and waste disposal, low materials and tools), 5S and environmental (waste disposal, delimited areas, labeling containers). As well as complying with quality, safety, health, and environmental procedures. This SME also helps the CNC Leader in his absence to lead basic activities of the tool room technicians and is responsible for the work they do, including the completion of such work on time, cost, and quality. Key Responsibilities Essential obligations and responsibilities Provides support to: Local Manufacturing Teams: Automation / Process Engineering / Manufacturing / Quality / Maintenance Analytical thinking and focusing on results. Effective communication with operational and management areas. Adaptability to change and orientation to continuous improvement. Continuous Improvement : 5S, SMED. Evaluates risks, quantifies/estimates impact. Comply with Lockout Tagout Procedures. Maintain Respect and Discipline. Preventive maintenance: Conventional milling machines (alignment, cleaning, lubrication and bed adjustment). Cutting and grinding equipment (vertical band saw, horizontal band saw). Daily maintenance of machining center. Cleaning and preventive maintenance of heat treatment furnaces. Corrective maintenance: Conventional equipment: vertical band saw, horizontal band saw, milling machine, lathes and heat treatment furnace. Flat surface grinders. Performing operations of: Milling: Head and press alignment, grooving, compound forms, index or division system handling, sinus table, knurling, clamping and milling of large parts, drilling and tapping of precision parts (rimming and tapping). Lathe: Basic drilling, execution of internal and external threads, facing and turning of difficult parts, clamping and handling of irregular parts, machining of eccentric parts, alignment of the machine, internal and external grinding. Grinding: Squaring and dimensioning of elementary level parts, mirror polishing (lapping), sharpening of cutting tools, shapes, radius, angles and critical tolerances, precision grinding, handling of automatic grinding machine. CNC equipment: 2‑axis programming and set‑up, 3‑axis and 4‑axis set‑up, tooling and programming of machining centers, transfer and loading of programs. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Desirable education, skills and/or experience High school diploma. Courses or certification in conventional machining. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position. Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry regulated by the FDA. Experience in the automotive industry. Knowledge in the ISO 13485:2003. GD&T. Basic SolidWorks or equivalent. MS Office Suite. Outstanding skills in system failure analysis. In absence of CNC Leader may supervise others.
