We seek engineers with strong technical background, great execution, and self-starter mentality. The ideal candidate loves to jump into the unknown, clarify ambiguities, quickly learn from failures, and break down vague ideas into concrete tasks.Build and lead a high performing cross functional team of engineers, designers and program managers based in Mexico CityArchitect and implement high impact web full stack features end to end, in collaboration with engineering teams across sitesBuild well-designed, reusable services and components that can be shared across Niantic’s web applicationsCollaborate between eng, design, and product teams to ensure the goals of the product are aligned with the delivered feature or serviceParticipate in code reviews, write unit tests, and conduct troubleshooting to ensure uptime for live systemsCollaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to cultivate strong working relationships with project team members, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetingsAct as a cultural, linguistic and technical bridge between teams across global offices, including in the United States, Japan and SpainTravel to Scopely’s various international offices as needed to facilitate planning, collaboration and team building, potentially including offices in the US, Tokyo and BarcelonaRequired in-office 3 days per week, based in Mexico City, MexicoWhat We're Looking ForBS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field3+ years industry experience in full stack web development or related fieldsExperience mentoring junior engineers, strong cross functional collaboration, and leading projectsDemonstrated history leading delivery of projects involving multiple contributorsProficiency in multiple application domains (e.g. cloud infrastructure, backend, frontend) and a demonstrated ability to learn and deliver products utilizing new technologiesStrong experience in advanced, modern JavaScript technologies and frameworks (GraphQL, React, Node)Demonstrated ability to propose, implement and launch high impact featuresAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance noticeExperience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with othersFluency in Spanish with ability to periodically travel to Scopely’s global offices, including ones in the United States, Japan or BarcelonaBonus PointsDemonstrated commitment to quality including concrete deliverables around performance and test coverageExperience in backend technologies (e.g. Golang, GRPC)Experience building applications and products end to endExperience managing engineering or multifunctional teamsExperience helping shape tactical and strategic product direction and execution as a strong engineering partnerExperience with Cloud Services like AWS / Azure / GCPPlease ensure that the résumé/CV you attach is written in English.At Scopely, we create games for everyone - and want to ensure that the people behind our games reflect that We are committed to creating a diverse, supportive work environment where everyone is treated with respect.
