**Estimated contract length**: 9-18 monthsThe work we do everyday matters.From modernizing the grid and ensuring safe, reliable water delivery to creating smarter cities, you can make an impact with Itron.Itron is looking for a **Contract-Global Commodity Manager** to join its global procurement team.In this role, you will be responsible for:- Direct ownership of partner relationship- Researching and sourcing suppliers for defined commodity- Financial review of supplier metrics, detailed cost analysis on suppliers' RFQ responses, and developing & communicating recommendations for management review and approval- Conduct supplier selection and negotiations to deliver contractual agreements with preferred suppliers in accordance with defined category strategy- Provide external marketplace knowledge of the latest category dynamics, trends, benchmarks, and best practicesExperience: 5 years of experience in electronic and/or mechanical commodity sets.Required skills:- Tech and/or Industrial market understanding, including current market intelligence- Strong pricing negotiation skills- Track record of meeting price-down goals (5% quarter over quarter reductions)Key intangibles:- Self-starter with assertive approach- Strong sense of team, comfortable with debate and buying in to aligned strategies- Strong presentation skills influencing CPO / SVP decision makers- Strong analytical skillsEducation: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required.Engineering degree highly preferred.LI-LG1
