Senior Manager, Business Planning

As a Senior Manager, Business Planning & Analysis supporting the Corporate Functions & Operations Team, you will perform and analyze financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, actual cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management. Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis. May provide analysis on business development and monitors business performance. In this role, a typical day will include: Lead the preparation of detailed financial analysis, including profit and loss statements, working capital reports, and cost/benefit analysis Support the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and long‑term financial planning for the business unit Conduct financial modeling to evaluate the potential impact of corporate transactions, new initiatives, or changes in market conditions Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that guide decision‑making and improve operational performance Manage the month‑end close process, collaborating with accounting to ensure accurate accruals and financial reserves Analyze macroeconomic trends (e.g., interest rates, inflation) and assess their implications for the business Review of financial performance against benchmarks, providing recommendations for improvements and cost control measures Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, fostering professional growth and team performance WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, corporate finance, finance, economics, engineering or related; CPA, CMA or MBA preferred 8+ years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis roles (local, regional, global) Fluent in spoken and written English Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent analytical skills (including the ability to synthesize, simplify, and convey story with clear messages) Experience working in multicultural / international environment Problem solving mindset, with a strong passion for simplification HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON: Opportunity to join a growing, early‑stage organization built within a mature, stable global company.
