Cost Accounting Manager

The Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the cost accounting function within the organization. This role ensures accurate cost analysis, supports strategic decision-making, and contributes to financial planning and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of manufacturing or service costing methodologies. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes. Analyze production costs, material costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses. Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management review. Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation. Support budgeting and financial planning activities. Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Lead costing audits and support external audit requirements. Provide training and guidance to junior costing staff. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis. Strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or service industry costing. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Skills: Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
