Contract/Agency)0 to 10 salaried0 to 25 hourly**JOB DUTIES**:This position is accountable for the leadership, system integration and technical development of the engineering team in Monterrey, Mexico to support the system level design teams for the Operator Environment and Electrical Systems within the Caterpillar Mining machine portfolio.Reporting to this position are various levels of engineers, technologists, and support personnel in one or more geographic location.The supervision role accounts for up to 100% of this assignment.The incumbent needs to coach and facilitate the development of the work group to develop collaborative relationships among themselves, with customers, suppliers, other cross functional groups, and internal customers to ensure goals are achieved.Program/project management skills and organizational skills are critical.Position requires excellent human relations, interpersonal, and communications skills.Position also requires highly developed people skills for coaching and leading people.Ability to draw upon and ever increasing skills in the Caterpillar Leadership competencies - Be Strategic, Focus on the Enterprise, Global Leadership, Lead Change, Hold Self and Others Accountable, Know your Customer, Build Engagement, and Coach for Development.The incumbent would set strategy at the section level.The section would solve problems for one or more technology, component, product, or process.Project scope will vary from a moderate technical focus to a broader, multi-systems focus, and will require incumbent to broaden business understanding.Challenges include increased competitive pressure, increasing project complexity and customer demands.Therefore, the ability to draw upon foundational product development skills such as conceptual design, development of product and/or process, data analysis & extraction, failure resolution & prevention, and requirements management is required; as well as, ever increasing skill in technical project management, development of product, internal and external requirements management, and cost-value management.The ability to draw upon knowledge of more than one engineering function, technology, component, system, product, or process is required.This role requires that the incumbent increases understanding of product technology and process and the customers' business and needs.To make decisions, this position will work with immediate work group or project team, division/business unit, suppliers, internal and external customers, and the market, typically impacting one or more product(s), process(es), or factory(ies).**BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE**:- This position will require an accredited Engineering degree- Requires at least 10 years of experience in fabrication design, manufacturing operations or engineering- Fluent English**The Caterpillar Code of Conduct states that we will select and place employees based on their qualifications for the job to be performed, without regard to race, religion, national origin, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.In this company we do not request pregnancy tests, nor HIV tests as requirements for employment entry, permanence or promotion.****Final details**LICaterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).Not ready to apply?Submit your information to our Talent Network here.
