Senior Accountant (Remote part-time) Job Title: Sr. Accountant (Remote part-time) Industry: Manufacturing Engagement Type: To be determined Work Hours (CT): 08:30 AM to 5:30 PM CT M to F Language Requirement: English C1+ & Spanish fully professional Equipment: Must have your own laptop + high-speed internet Role Overview This is a senior individual-contributor leadership role responsible for owning end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for a multi-entity, international operating business. The Accountant will oversee accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensure accurate and timely closes, and act as the primary financial counterpart to U.S. leadership. The ideal candidate is highly structured, hands-on, and experienced operating in complex, cross-border environments involving U.S. GAAP, China accounting practices, and Panamanian statutory requirements. Position Purpose Own all accounting output across entities, supervise the accounting team, ensure compliance across jurisdictions, and interface directly with U.S. management, external auditors, and tax advisors. Key Responsibilities Own and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple entities Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Panamanian accounting standards, and China accounting requirements Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and general ledger accuracy Oversee bank reconciliations and cash positioning Lead treasury and cash-flow planning, approvals, and forecasting Coordinate with U.S.-based tax CPAs and external auditors Ensure adherence to U.S. reporting timelines and deadlines Design, document, and maintain internal controls and accounting processes Deliver variance analysis, management reporting, and financial insights to leadership Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives Act as a strategic finance partner to operations and executive leadership Critical Requirements (Non-Negotiable) Strong hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP Demonstrated experience with China accounting practices (manufacturing, suppliers, or intercompany exposure) Solid knowledge of Panamanian accounting and local statutory compliance Experience managing multi-company and intercompany structures Proven ability to close books monthly with accuracy and discipline Experience working directly with U.S.-based stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA (Panama or equivalent) strongly preferred; U.S. exposure is a plus 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in international or multi-entity environments Strong expertise in: Financial reporting and consolidation, Cash-flow management, Budgeting and forecasting, Audit coordination and regulatory compliance Proficiency with QuickBooks, ERP systems, or similar accounting platforms Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and operational discipline Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial, or international operations is a plus Location Remote – LATAM Panama strongly preferred Candidates in other LATAM countries considered if they meet all jurisdictional requirements Compensation USD $28,000/35,000 annually + performance bonus Final compensation dependent on experience, certifications, and depth of international exposure Panama CPA and direct U.S. reporting experience may command the upper end of the range Seniority Level Mid-Senior level Employment Type Full-time Job Function Accounting/Auditing Industries Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at General Staffing by 2x Get notified about new Accountant jobs in Latin America. #J-18808-Ljbffr
