We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of an AWS-hosted SaaS platform built on REST APIs, service-oriented architecture, and cloud-native backend services.
This is a hybrid QA role combining manual exploratory testing, backend and API validation, UI workflow testing, Playwright-based automation, performance and load testing, and release validation across multiple environments. The engineer will help expand automated coverage while continuing to provide practical release-quality support for active product delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience testing REST APIs, SaaS platforms, distributed services, and end-to-end workflows. Hands-on experience with Playwright, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Jira, Zephyr, CI/CD workflows, AWS environments, log analysis, and backend troubleshooting is expected. Experience with SIP, VoIP, real-time communications, or AI-assisted testing tools is a strong plus but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of QA engineering experience, preferably with SaaS platforms, REST APIs, distributed systems, or microservices-based architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience testing REST APIs, backend services, integrations, and service-oriented systems.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated tests with Playwright, including UI workflow automation and API validation.
- Experience with hybrid QA approaches combining manual testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, and test automation.
- Experience managing test cases, test execution, defects, and release validation workflows using Jira and Zephyr or similar tools.
- Experience working in CI/CD environments and validating software across multiple deployment stages.
- Experience with performance or load testing concepts, including concurrency, response time, throughput, bottlenecks, and error-rate analysis.
Familiarity with AWS-hosted SaaS systems and cloud deployment concepts. - Strong ability to analyze logs, API responses, request payloads, error messages, metrics, and environment-specific behavior.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document defects, risks, and test results clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile teams and collaborate across QA, engineering, product, SRE, DevOps, and support groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with k6, Locust, JMeter, Gatling, or similar performance and load testing tools.
- Experience testing microservices, asynchronous workflows, event-driven systems, queues, caching layers, or distributed data flows.
- Experience testing applications using PostgreSQL, Redis, API Gateway, ECS, EC2, or related AWS-hosted platform components.
- Experience with test data management, environment configuration, seeded data, synthetic data, and repeatable test setup patterns.
- Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or similar platforms.
- Experience using AI-assisted testing tools, AI coding assistants, AI MCP agents, or automated test generation workflows.
- Experience with real-time communications, VoIP, SIP, Asterisk, telephony workflows, or communications platform testing is a strong plus.
- Experience testing security-related behavior including authentication, authorization, role-based access control, token handling, and input validation.
- Experience working in contractor, project-based, or fast-moving engineering environments with evolving requirements.
- Experience improving QA processes, automation strategy, release gates, defect triage practices, or test coverage reporting.
