We are Hiring a Materials Specialist in Aguascalientes, MX

The Materials Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory processes. This role involves conducting regular inventory audits, analyzing inventory data, and implementing process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency. The Specialist works closely with other departments to resolve inventory issues and support overall business operations. This position will be responsible for all aspects of materials flow. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities:Inventory Management
  1. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  2. Identify and report any discrepancies or shortages in inventory.
  3. Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
  4. Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate inventory updates.
  5. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile any discrepancies.
  6. Coordinate all activities with our 3rd party warehouse, assess and ensure space availability and ensure raw materials movements and transactions occur in a timely manner.
  7. Maintain optimum inventory levels while achieving financial objectives, reporting metrics to the business and working with Finance and Operations group to prepare the inventory budget, forecast, reserve, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
  8. Lead and coordinate the cycle count plan to classify all items according to the nature and dollar amount value of each item.
Supply Chain Management
  1. Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  2. Maintain relationships and negotiate with contract manufacturers, supervising and coordinating purchasing activities that will affect production line continuity.
  3. Provide support to our Contract Manufacturer to mitigate and resolve material shortages.
  4. Interface with Operations regarding forecasting changes.
  5. Participate as a member of the Supply Chain team in making cross-functional decisions.
  6. Adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions, and legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
  7. Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  8. Monitor and track supplier performance metrics.
  9. Identify and implement cost-saving measures in the supply chain.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  1. Identify trends and make recommendations for inventory optimization.
  2. Provide regular updates and reports to management on inventory status and performance.
  3. Reconcile AR/AP issues and drive root causes and corrective actions.
  4. Review excess and obsolete claims.
Process Improvement
  1. Continuously review and improve inventory management processes.
  2. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Train and educate other team members on inventory management best practices.
  4. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to improve inventory management processes.
Compliance and Safety
  1. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards related to inventory management.
  2. Monitor and maintain proper storage and handling of inventory items.
  3. Implement and enforce safety protocols in the warehouse and inventory storage areas.
  4. Conduct regular safety audits and address any issues promptly.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field with at least 5 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  2. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
  3. In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  4. Experience with conducting inventory audits and implementing process improvements.
  5. Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve inventory issues.
  7. Proven ability to influence and drive change across various levels of the organization.
  8. Proficiency in Business English communication to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders.
  9. Solid project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  10. US Tourist Visa to travel to the USA.
  11. Ability to travel up to 25%.
  12. Working knowledge and broad understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
