Job DescriptionPlan, organize and direct an effective project engineering program; apply engineering principles and techniques to the solution of engineering problems.Supervise the construction of buildings and installation/ commissioning of equipment as required.Initiate and promote project elements that support the corporate initiatives.Monitor engineering aspects of equipment start-ups; ensure project start-up plans and required documentation are completed and coordinated with current/future Operations and Maintenance Department personnel.Assure that both safety and regulatory requirements are complied with for the state/province and country where the project is in.
If there are deviations found, they are to be communicated and dealt with effectively.Define Execution project charter and project targets (financial, scheduling, and scope); values taken over from respective departments.Create team members in conjunction with the Plants, BU's, and Central departments.Set up steering committee.
Establish an adequate project base (meetings and cadence, information/knowledge exchange, documentation, archiving).Help build a supportive culture of cooperation and teamwork within the project.Tailor optional activities according to the project's needs and ensure compliance with the processes.Develop and maintain the Execution Plan in accordance with the valid processes (phases, deliverables, gates, etc.)
throughout the life of the project, achieving the agreed operations objectives.Perform Risk Management activities, control, and steer the implementation of risk items.QualificationsMinimum of Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering).Professional Engineer status/license.Project Management background (projects larger than $1,000,000).Skills in Auto CAD, Statistical Process Control, Control Systems.Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience required, 10+ years preferred.Experience in working with international teams on purchasing topics and understanding of foreign cultures.
Must be able to work well with plant-based personnel, both technical and non-technical.Has directed work crews.Factory Planning process.Understand Key financial indicators at BU/Product level (EBIT, Gross Margin).Construction and tendering process.Quality Knowledge.Customer Management.Risk Management.Change Management and Problem Resolution Management.Company DescriptionContinental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods.
