To operate company vehicles and provide courteous, efficient delivery and pick up of packages; to check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; to provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; and to provide related customer service functions._x000D_

Provides efficient and safe delivery and pick-up of packages and documents, while representing the company in a professional manner.
Operates non-articulated vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with all governmental and Corporate procedures.
Accomplishes accurate and timely selection and inspection of assigned packages and the subsequent reporting of stop counts and miss-sorts.
Seeks additional business from current customers, attempts to gain new business (passes leads to sales department), and informs sales department of significant changes in customer use/competitor's actions.
Answers customer questions on FedEx feature of service and keeps customers informed about the company and its services.
Ensures that packages conform to FedEx features of service; that proper labeling in provided; and that all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate.
Determines legality of packages including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments and separates packages by service type and destination in accordance with established procedures.
Scans packages according to prescribed procedures and demonstrates proficiency in features of service and equipment.
Ensures customers have adequate supply of FedEx materials for shipping.
Meets aircraft and transports packages as required for sorting operations.
Loads and unloads aircraft, containers, and company vehicles and operates mechanized ramp equipment to load and unload packages.
Cleans, washes, and performs minor maintenance to company vehicles as necessary and maintains neat and clean personal appearance to uphold company's public image.
High School diploma/Equivalent.
Two (2) years' courier experience.
Must be able to demonstrate multi-route knowledge.
Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned and have no preventable accidents during previous two (2) years.
Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
Special Notes: The incumbent(s) of this position is(are) expected to perform all other related duties as assigned.
Employees classified in the position do not have regularly assigned routes, they provide coverage for open routes in the absence of the normally assigned courier.
Employees who are assigned multiple different routes during the work week on a regular basis are not classified as courier/swing driver.
Specific assignments may require certification as a dangerous goods specialist and performance of those duties.
In order to become and remain qualified for this position, the incumbent must pass all basic and/or recurrent training/testing.
