**Sr. Software Engineer**

In this position you will work with a small team of engineers to design and implement data integrations from dozens of data providers to support the EarthRanger ecosystem.
At the core of our integration platform is a suite of web services and streaming systems dedicated to providing mission critical geo-location data to EarthRanger as well as other conservation focused software systems.
You will be a key member of the team responsible for designing these systems to be secure, reliable and fast.
The software you build will be used by organizations throughout the world to help monitor and protect endangered ecosystems.
**Responsibilities**
- Participate in agile software development practices
- Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from web service interfaces to back-end systems and all points in between
- Established track record of delivering complex software solutions to delight customers
- Problem-solving skills and the abilities to analyze quantitatively, scope technical requirements and effectively prioritize program deliverables
- Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments
- Technical innovator and thought leader, with ability to demonstrate and inspire continuous learning, experimentation, and data-driven decision making

**Qualifications**
- Experience with modern languages like C#, JavaScript, Go, Java, C/C++ is a bonus
- Experience developing software using** open-source tools and environments**.
- Experience with streaming technologies a plus (Kafka, Pubsub, Pulsar).
- Experience writing fault-tolerant code that interacts with third-party APIs
- Professional experience **securing software** (APIs, databases, file storage, user information).
- Web service API design and development experience
- Experience delivering solutions using cloud providers (**Google Cloud**, AWS or Azure)
- Experience using containers to **build and deploy** services (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with **CI/CD** tools for automating builds and deployments (**CircleCI, Cloud Build, Helm**)
- Familiarity with **infrastructure automation** (**Terraform**, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Crossplane)
