Summary

HMH is currently hiring an HSSE Supervisor in Veracruz, Mexico. The HSSE Supervisor role requires specialized expertise within HSSE function and will utilize experience to lead others to solve complex problems. In this role, the HSSE Supervisor will be expected to utilize sophisticated analytical thought and exercise judgement to interpret both internal and external business challenges and identify innovative solutions to improve HSSE processes. The HSSE Supervisor will execute objectives for self and others, build effective partnerships and have the ability to positively affect the site’s short-term and long-term HSSE goals.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSSE support to the Veracruz HMH site that is effective and suitable to accomplish company objectives.
- Collaborate with HMH HSSE team to develop, improve and implement HSSE programs and procedures to ensure they align with HMH programs and initiatives and regulatory requirements.
- Drive an interdependent safety culture where employees look after each other and are responsible for health, safety and environmental practices and conditions.
- Act as a technical advisor to management, operations, employees and other functional groups to facilitate continue HSSE improvements.
- Leadership and responsibility for all aspects of HSSE including objectives, resources, documentation, file structures, ISO 14001 & 45001 compliance, HSSE legal compliance, incident response/investigation and emergency management.
- Develop and coordinate the delivery of plans to put in place compliance activity where it is otherwise absent or unsatisfactory.
- Ensure HSSE requirements are communicated to all projects and other relevant personnel and verify compliance by all appropriate means (meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits).
- Participate in and where necessary lead the investigation of major incidents and high potential events.
- Ensure Objectives, Policies and Procedures are cascaded to and implemented on all Projects.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area.
- Multitasking and time management skills
- Excellent written and Verbal communication
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, procedures and legislative process
- Experience with management systems (ISO 14001 & 45001)

Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant professional level experience.
- Proven HSSE work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working experience in oil & gas sector
- Health, safety and environmental certifications would be an asset.
- Emergency preparedness and response activities experience

Skills and Abilities: Ability to explain information, conveys performance expectations and handles sensitive issues.
