**What will you do**

Drive Manufacturing/Operations in the following areas: automation design and implementation on new automated production equipment, increase capacity, reduce scrap, improve safety, monitor existing processes, identify and implement process improvements in a regulated medical device reprocessing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Identify, develop, deploy, and sustain automated processes at the manufacturing operations
- Responsible for the automation roadmap, including process mechanization, data management automation, and digital shopfloor tools
- Responsible for the development of Equipment Specifications for automated equipment
- Responsible for advance training of Maintenance Techs and Engineers servicing automated equipment
- Support new products transfer, new technology transfer, design changes, and capacity expansions
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement and provide support to customers in all functional areas
- Discuss progress and interim findings at periodic design/project review meetings
- Perform Failure Analyses (FAs) on automated production equipment.
- Identify, lead and implement process improvements and machining improvements on production lines
- Reduce reject rates(scrap) and optimize manufacturing processes through automation projects
- Identify and implement safety improvements on production lines
- Lead the development and execution of technical protocols and, generation of reports
- Develop and implement operating procedures, standard work, visual work instructions, visual work references
- Lead training for Production for all new automated equipment and any changes to existing equipment.
- Knowledge of FDA/ISO requirements associated with the development of medical devices including Design Control
- Perform other duties as directed or assigned by Manager
- Act as a point of contact and mentor to less experienced engineers and technicians
- Manage capital expenditure request related to Automation equipment
- Manage professional relationships and biding processes with internal/external machine shop and equipment suppliers
- Support and improve existing processes using Statistical, Lean, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Six Sigma methodologies
- May have coordination responsibilities with CAD specialist and Tool and Die Makers

What will you need
- B.S. engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial)
- 7+ years related experience
- Advanced experience developing and deploying process mechanization, data management automation, and digital shop floor tools (SCADA, Productivity Cube, Digital Work Instructions, etc)
- Developing automated equipment systems from current known processes or new processes.
- Reading blueprints including electrical, mechanical and wiring.
- Excellent analytical skills and interpersonal communications skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Advance knowledge in CAD tools: Autocad and Solid Works (must), Pro E (preferably)
- Advance programming skills: PLCs & SQL programming
- Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management tool
- Experience with both writing and performing Equipment and Process validations
- Experience with failure analysis tools (Fault Tree analysis, FMEA)
- Demonstrated ability to plan, track and facilitate projects using applicable tools (e.g. Gantt and Pert Charts etc.)
