UX Designer

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is looking for a talented, passionate and experienced User Experience Designer to join its Wolfram User Experience team. The User Experience Designer will design web, desktop and mobile experiences for Wolfram and its many products. You will be involved in the process of creating awesome products from ideas to shipped products/features. You will work closely with visual designers, developers, business analysts and project managers and interact with various stakeholders to bring their vision to fruition.

**Responsibilities**
- Designing innovative and elegant interactions for desktop, web and mobile experiences
- Translating abstract concepts and business requirements into clear, detailed specifications
- Analyzing current interfaces/products and providing continuous improvements and suggestions
- Creating user stories, flow diagrams, clean and annotated wireframes, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile interfaces that effectively communicate the design to stakeholders, designers and developers
- Collaborating closely with developers and visual designers
- Conducting usability tests, analyzing user feedback and implementing improvements based on the qualitative and quantitative data

**Required qualifications**
- At least three years of experience in designing interactions for desktop apps, websites and mobile apps
- Passion for simple and intuitive design
- Experience with creating complicated user flows and flow diagrams and designing experiences for multiple use cases
- Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills
- Attention to detail, a critical eye for visual design and a strong understanding of user-centered design principles
- Ability to work on multiple projects and balance multiple priorities
- Degree in human-computer interaction, information services, computer science, product design or a related field
- Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of deliverables (e.g. annotated wireframes, flow diagrams, research) that demonstrate a thoughtful approach to solving complex design problems

**Desired qualifications**
- Technical writing skills
- Experience with Axure RP, Figma or Adobe XD
- Familiarity with Mathematica or Wolfram Language
- Basic understanding of web and mobile technologies; no prior coding experience is required for this role
