**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Senior Sustainability Manager is essential in promoting our company’s sustainability objectives, guiding environmentally responsible practices throughout our operations. This role spearheads the development, execution, monitoring, and auditing of sustainability strategies, including the funding of current and upcoming projects, ensuring alignment with our values, regulatory standards, global sustainability goals, and the Equator Principles.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Sustainability Strategy Development**: Collaborate with diverse departments to guide our sustainability vision, setting concrete objectives, goals, and timelines for various sustainability projects.
- **Environmental & Social Impact Assessment**: Evaluate the environmental and social implications of our mining activities, pinpoint potential improvement zones, and devise plans to reduce negative impacts.
- **Compliance and Reporting**: Assure adherence to relevant standards and reporting mandates. Generate sustainability reports for various stakeholders, guaranteeing a robust internal control and tracking system for sustainability outcomes.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Strengthen ties with the Community Relations and Environmental Department, regional communities, and government bodies, advocating for sustainable operations and addressing stakeholder feedback.
- **Energy and Resource Efficiency**: Spot and implement strategies to enhance energy conservation and reduce environmental footprints.
- **Health and Safety**: Collaborate with the H&S department, ensuring safety protocols are seamlessly integrated with sustainability projects.
- **Sustainable Supply Chain**: Engage with procurement to assess and enhance supplier sustainability practices.
- **Social Responsibility**: Head social responsibility campaigns that enrich the lives of local communities.
- **Sustainable Innovation**: Stay updated with sustainable mining technologies, promoting their integration.
- **Training and Awareness**: Partner with HR to launch sustainability training programs for employees, fostering a sustainability-centric culture.
- **Communications**: Lead company communications regarding sustainability, ensuring robust internal and external awareness.

**Project (location) Specific**:

- Ensure compliance with audit requirements stemming from IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles.
- Coordinate audits with banking entities and the Independent Engineer, addressing issues and developing remedial action plans.
- Manage the Environmental Social Management System (ESMS) integration with the company's existing systems at other sites.

**WORKING RELATIONS**:

- Internal:_ Collaborate with internal departments like Safety, Environment, Community Relations, HR, Risk Control, and Procurement.
- External:_ Engage with government bodies, partners, local communities, and other stakeholders.

**DECISION SCOPE**:
Must collaborate with operations management and relevant departments, assessing business risks, and ensuring budget allocation for sustainability objectives.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience:_
- Minimum 15 years in sustainability-related roles, with significant experience in the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of Mexican environmental norms, sustainability frameworks, and sustainable mining standards.
- Proven team supervisory experience.
- Education:_
- Master’s degree in a Sustainability-related field.
- Skills & Knowledge:_
- Skilled in conflict resolution, audit management (IFC and Equator Principles), and data analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Adherence to the highest integrity and ethical standards.
- Languages:_
- Fluent in Spanish with an advanced level of English proficiency.
