We operate in two groups: The Engine Group develops air management strategies and products to optimize engines for fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced performance. BorgWarner’s expertise includes engine timing systems, boosting systems, ignition systems, air and noise management, cooling and controls. The Drivetrain Group harnesses a legacy of more than 100 years as an industry innovator in transmission and all-wheel drive technology. The group leverages this understanding of powertrain clutching technology to develop interactive control systems and strategies for all types of torque management.
BorgWarner FS&A is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Jr. Buyer at our SLP Plant in Mexico.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Presentation of improvements in current processes from tactical to more automated that allow greater traceability and control. (New engineering registrations, claims/rejections, /tests/updates).
- Guarantee the supply of materials, products, and indirect services for the installed plants, complying with the quality, price, and time specifications.
- Analysis of the database of assigned commodities, which allow the development of strategies that translate into a supply in time and with quality of products or services.
- Verification of indicators in the market to support negotiations to be carried out with suppliers.
- Preparation of Contracts that establish negotiations with suppliers and ensure adequate supply that covers the needs and requirements of BorgWarner.
- Negotiation with Suppliers ensuring compliance with established procedures for purchases of indirect material.
- Communication of potential risks of lack of supply or price impacts.
- Generation, development, and implementation of saving projects.
- Provide feedback to the indirect material purchasing supervisor on the impacts, risks, and results.
- Generation of ideas for improvement in the indirect material purchasing material process (operation, system).
- Approval of requisitions in the system based on the release strategy.
- Comply with the Matrix of Responsibilities and Authorities of the Environmental Management System, Format: 600-01-02.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Industrial Engineer, Lic. Administration, Commerce, or related career.
- Time of experience in similar position: 1 year in similar position
- Technical knowledge required: Preparation of contracts, Development of suppliers, Conduct of tenders and tenders with suppliers, Management of commodities
- Other requirements: Microsoft Office, SAP, ERP Desirable english skills.
- English conversational/Business.

SAFETY
This position will adhere to the current Occupational Health and Safety Administration and Management System of BorgWarner SLP designed and implemented under Mexican law and applicable national and international standards. Safety rules, practices and training are included as stated in the BorgWarner SLP Internal Work Regulations, which includes the use of equipment, protection devices and/or clothing required by the company. This position will be performed in such a way as to highlight the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and Management System over which they have control. All reasonable precautions must be taken in the given circumstances for the protection of your own safety and health and that of co-workers. In addition, you will be responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, exposure risks, incidents or accidents that occur to your immediate supervisor, so that preventive and corrective actions can be taken.
