**Role Purpose**:

- To maintain and enhance professional development and academic quality in the teaching center, through the management of in-house teacher development programme and support
- To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English
- To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience
- To support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission

**Accountabilities**:
**Teaching**
- Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning needs and modes of learning
- Ensure teaching meets British Council Global Teaching Standards, as well as organisational and learner expectations.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students’ performance throughout their learning, and actively promote learner autonomy and progress
- Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning, and maintain British Council’s position at the forefront of best ELT practices.

**Teaching Centre Activities**
- Support teaching centre’s activities and British Council plans
- Attend staff meetings and otherwise contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students’ needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team
- Support local marketing and promotional strategy, and assist the teaching centre team in delivering excellent customer service through dissemination of information and communications with students
- Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards and uphold professional responsibilities and values. Ensure British Council’s values and behaviours are reflected in their work

**Qualification**

**Essentials**
- Undergraduate degree (in any discipline)
- Cambridge CELTA and or Trinity certificate TESOL

**Desirables**
- Recognised diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA/Trinity Diploma
- TYLEC

**Work Experience**

**Essentials**
- 2 year post-certificate i.e. CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL experience
- Experience in teaching relevant age groups:

- Primary aged 6 to 10 (400+ hours)
- Lower Secondary aged 11 to 14 (400+ hours)
- Upper Secondary aged 15 to 17 (400+ hours)
- Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours)

**Desirables**
- Experience with Early Years (200+ hours)
- University/Vocational students aged 18 to 25 (400+hours)
- Line managing experience
- Experience delivering training sessions

**Language Requirements**
- Full mastery of English across all 4 skills equivalent to user (CEFR C2) IELTS Band 8 in each of 4 sections of the academic module

**Salary & Benefits**Salary: CELTA - **28,351 MXN / month; **DELTA-** 34,356 MXN / month-

- Classes are offered from 07.00 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 08.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays.
- This role may require mornings and/or evenings and Saturday work. Every effort is made to reduce split shifts.
- Classes are offered online and face-to-face on-site and off-site.
- **Right to Work/Passport Requirement**:The post holder will be provided administrative support and guidance for Visa.
