ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
TelevisaUnivision’s Media Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help and implement high performance streaming backend services. These are the services, components and APIs that power our VIX video streaming platforms. This team handles OTT streaming backend workflow and works closely with other VIX engineering teams as well as our partners.

ABOUT YOU:

To succeed in this role, you must be experienced with building backend services, APIs, automation, and streaming workflow.

You value open communication and are willing to give and receive feedback.

You can stay calm when things aren’t going well.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

- Implement streaming backend services, components and APIs
- Work closely with other engineering teams and provide integration solutions
- Provide technical guidance to other team members

YOU HAVE:

- Experience with distributed architectures
- Experience with live/VOD related backend workflow and services
- Experience with various programming languages: NodeJS, Typescript, Python, Go, Java, etc.
- Experience with restful APIs, caching mechanism, DB query and performance
- Experience with real time data processing, Pub/Sub architecture
- Experience with Scrum/Kanban
- Experience with Github, JIRA
- Experience with GCP, AWS or Azure
- Experience working with distributed/remote teams
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Ability to thrive in a high pressure and changing environment
- Ability to multi-task, maintain focus, and meet deadlines
- 6+ years as a software engineer with 3+ years in a senior role
- Proficient in written and spoken English
