**What you will do?**

Working under the framework of the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS) and as a member of the Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO), Leads Continuous Improvement initiatives, assesses current business performance, identifies gaps, establishes, and implements improvement plans, monitors progress, and shares / acquires best-in-class ideas and processes. Responsible for Lean project execution. Ensures the facilities obtain budgetary goals set for lean manufacturing projects through partnering with facility production teams and management. Trains production teams, plans, and executes lean workshops, and documents and reports results.

**How you will do it?**
- Facilitate cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow, and Cost.
- Value Stream Analysis (Current and Future State Value Stream Mapping).
- Collaborate with C.I. Manager to assess the Current state of the plant’s Operations; Develop Future State vision and implementation plan.
- Drive multifunctional teams.
- Assist in locating Best-in-Class Operations processes, and then getting them into the plant.
- Support other C.I. initiatives, including best practice implementation, while striving to improve Business Metrics.
- Coach team members in understanding Lean principles.
- Identify and drive to implement model Lean lines/cells, and then extend to whole plant.
- Assist in the gathering of JCMS Assessment data. Collaborate with C.I. Manager to improve Lean-relevant metrics.
- Using standard tracking and reporting systems, will prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion and achievement of product / process quality and savings goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant C.I. Roadmap, bridging business metrics gaps with either: 1. Just Do It improvements, 2. Six Sigma projects, or 3. Lean Implementation projects.
- Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from champions when needed.
- Assist the Continuous Improvement Manager in any strategic initiative that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems, and designing creative solutions that will continuously improve the plant.
- Accountable to impact on Operational Cost.
- Assures that safe work practices are followed.
- Assist in relevant JCMS action items/activities as pertains to your knowledge/skill set and technical ability.
- All other tasks as assigned.

What we look for?
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or equivalent, work experience is required.
- Prior manufacturing experience.
- Has demonstrated high level performance in current and previous positions.
- Has shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations.
- Has solid leadership skills and able to manage both vertically and horizontally
- Has a solid grasp of manufacturing principles, including Process, Information, and Material flow.
- The capacity to teach (or to learn to teach) others and be seen as approachable, helpful, and supportive by Black Belts and Champions
- A strong interest in process and quality improvement and the ability to provide leadership.
- Certification as a Lean Implementer Preferred, certification as Green Belt desirable. Preferred experience with all Lean concept and tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.
