**The Role**: Data Science Associate, Agribusiness Consulting

**The Team**: You will be part of the Agribusiness consulting team that covers both the commercial and public sectors. This diverse team works collaboratively across our global regions, including the North American, South American, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) teams, and other S&P Global teams in areas such as economic country risk, maritime and trade, energy, and other teams.

**The Impact**: Leverage the vast modeling and data resources of S&P Global Commodity Insights to support clients working at the cutting edge of global agribusiness and decarbonization initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:
Maintain and improve existing datasets and tools
Dynamically evaluate model and dataset quality, automate ETL pipelines.
Translate feedback from internal and external clients into data and/or tool improvements including new features, streamlined interfaces, and better data sources.
Establish new datasets and tools
Build novel datasets and interfaces to promote insights for clients.
Conduct exploratory data analysis (distributions, cleanliness, statistical tests) on large agricultural datasets.
Code development
Work with clients and colleagues to understand their business objectives. Identify data volume, sourcing, and structuring challenges. Build methodology for achieving the desired output under the project constraints.
Build new statistical models, tools, and dashboards to support consulting activity.

**What we’re looking for**:
**Basic Qualifications**:
BA in Statistics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computational Engineering, Information Science, Economics, or related field (MS preferred)
0-3 years of relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of Python 3
Basic knowledge of SQL
Data visualization skills including experience with PowerBI or similar
Work collaboratively across geographies and a diversity of people
An interest in working on projects in various areas of agribusiness and bioenergy
Proficiency in written and verbal English
Preferred Qualifications
Portfolio of work (git) that demonstrates knowledge of handling and transforming data, and implementing statistical models in python or R
Experience with or knowledge of agriculture production, trade, and pricin
Experience working with Snowflake or another cloud-based relational database tool
Experience working with “big data” and PySpark
Experience working in a consulting environment
