Technical Flavorist

This position has as the main objective to respond culinary briefing in Mexico. This is a category focus for growth in the next years in Latam. The customers targeted are mainly Unilever, Nestlé, Sigma, Herdez and other local brands.

Main activities described below:

- Work on assigned projects and support posively business growth.
- Continually improve knowledge in flavor design technology and raw materials through a regular and ongoing raw material evaluation program.
- To support Jr. flavorists and/or senior flavorists in their flavor developments.
- To notify laboratory technician of any needs to replenish raw materials and laboratory supplies.
- To ensure compliance of new flavor developments to formula design best practices.
- Develop new flavors and/or modifying existing flavor formula under the guidance of an assigned senior flavorist.
- Constantly improve upon the jobholder’s knowledge base and actively follow to assigned training program.
- Ensure that only approved raw materials from SY global palette are used.
- Become fully conversant with all computerized flavor creation programs.
- Ensure that all new and/or modified flavors are correctly entered into the company’s formulation database (SymCom).
- This flavorist will work with some importants GKA and will have regional/global exposure.
- To attend local (Mexico) and Regional (Latam) briefings in savory area, Culinary mainly to support Latam business growth.

Requisitions
- Flavor ingredient knowledge (aroma molecules, essential oils and extracts, etc)
- Flavor language
- Flavor design training and adherence to best practices
- At least basic knowledge on flavor associated technologies, e.g. spray drying, powder blending, reactions, fermentation, etc.
- Minimum 5 years experience as Flavorist

- Outstanding sensory abilities
- Cross cultural adaptability and mobility desired
- Fluent in English, additional languages highly desirable
- Computer literate (MS Office / SAP)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Well organized self starter with desire to develop new skills
