- Responsibility to assure BRP Chihuahua is compliance with all the Mexican regulations in force (Customs law, fiscal laws, NOM’s, etc)
- Perform periodic compliance audits as needed and assist with development, standardization, and corrective action plan implementation.
- Support the manager to Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that employees understand and follow targeted legal principles involving IMMEX and foreign trade laws.
- Assist site trade compliance teams in developing and administering an effective trade compliance program to ensure company compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Prepare for internal and external audits by researching materials; formulating a plan of action.
- Support in ensuring compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation, recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure.
- Communicate audit progress and findings by preparing reports; providing information to GTS management.
- Coordinate internal audits/self-assessment site reviews.
- Support third-party consultant’s auditors by coordinating information requirements with the sites.
- Support strategic trade partnerships (e.g., C-TPAT, AEO, VAT)
- Responsible for trade compliance training & auditing for MX sites.
- Resolution of compliance events (government audits and inquiries; internal support on compliance issues)
- Interactions with Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Supply Chain, Logistics, Senior Business Management, Information Technology, Internal Audit.
- To be updated with the changes in the MX law and Free trades agreements signed by Mexico to provide recommendations to the manager and coordinators.

The Trade Compliance Expert is responsible of ensuring the correct legal management of all operations in Chihuahua an agile and lean way, creating opportunities and/or alternatives to take advantage of the different laws and regulations in Mexico and finding different ways to do our operation maintaining a high level of compliance providing support to the business.

Responsible to identify strategies, develops compliance program tools for training and self audits, and working directly with business partners to support BRP growth and to assure compliant processes are implemented following the regulatory requirements with minor impact to the business.

The Foreign Trade Compliance Expert will pro-actively work with the manager and coordinators, auditing the customs processes and providing recommendations to improve our legal compliance and stay focus on the value added activities.

To be updated with the Mexican law requirements and internal requirements will be key challenges for this role.
