**Position Summary**:
HIAS has a long history of providing legal and humanitarian assistance to forcibly displaced persons, refugees, and asylum seekers in Ukraine since 2001. HIAS is a member of the Ukraine Protection Consortium, with the objective of preventing and responding to protection issues, improving the well-being and resilience of conflict-affected communities, and strengthening the safe environment for forcibly displaced people in Ukraine through an Integrated Multi-sector response. As part of an integrated multi-sector response approach, PSS intervention within protection aims to improve the availability of appropriate PSS care for conflict-affected individuals and communities and to strengthen protective environments.

HIAS is looking for an Emergency mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) consultant to design and adapt an integrated psychosocial support curriculum for caregivers, supporting children with protection vulnerabilities as a result of the situation in Ukraine. The consultant is expected to design the PSS curriculum's content based on already-existing materials that are focused on parenting stress management and healthy coping methods developed by Save the Children and others for emergency situations. The consultant will coordinate closely with HIAS technical MHPSS leadership, including the Director of Resilience Programs and the MHPSS Coordinator for the Ukraine Response, MHPSS program staff, and implementing partners.

**Key deliverables**:

- Provide a detailed work plan outlining the timeline of delivery of the PSS curriculum resources package for caregivers, the training materials, and training guide in consultation with HIAS’ focal persons and key implementing partners
- Develop and adapt an integrated PSS curriculum for caregivers utilizing existing resources, with broad links to Child Protection activities targeted at strengthening the support networks and coping mechanisms for parents and caregivers. The module should cover key content to train caregivers on distress management skills, positive parenting skills, positive coping strategies as psychoeducation about normal stress reactions in children and adolescents, reactions that need further attention, and strategies for supporting children with these reactions and providing appropriate coping support.
- Organize a consultation session with the key point of contact to identify training need and gather feedback PSS training curriculum resources tailored to children and caregivers
- Facilitate virtual orientation session on the developed PSS curriculum training.

5. Provide fully PSS integrated curriculum training packed, report and share relevant documents produced

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, anthropology, public mental health, and social care services in humanitarian and active conflict settings.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant MHPSS experience in humanitarian contexts, preferably working in programs targeting refugee and/or forcibly displaced children and caregivers.
- A proven track record of success in designing, implementing, and evaluating MHPSS intervention within the context of a crisis or conflict.
- An in-depth understanding and experience implementing and evaluating MHPSS interventions with children and caregivers in conflict or crisis contexts.
- Extensive experience designing and adapting existing MHPSS intervention guidelines and tools related to Children and caregiver in humanitarian context
- Demonstrated awareness, sensitivity, and the ability to accommodate to differences in age, gender, religion, race, and ethnicity as well as culture.
- Experience working in Child protection, GBV and MHPSS in emergency context
- Experience in providing training, supervision or working remotely via various platforms (zoom, team and others)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
