As an Aftermarket Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering turbochargers & turbomachinery solutions for Aftermarket customers around the world. Responsibilities: Customer Programs - Define scope & product offerings with customer and Aftermarket team - Perform 1D simulation including turbocharger matching and aerodynamic evaluation - Design components as needed in CAD and/or manage design activity - Drive engineering activities for development including FEA, CFD, DFMEA as needed - Perform Post Test Analysis activities including tear-down, analysis, 8D/RCCA, product improvements, and reporting - Analyze FEA and CFD results making appropriate design changes to address findings. - Responsible for resolving field and warranty issues by identifying root cause, implementing rapid containment and permanent corrective actions for existing product. Platform Ownership - Maintain and develop Aftermarket-specific product platform - Identify opportunities & execute improvements - Define & manage laboratory testing for performance and durability Engineering Development - Define processes, conduct research, identify and complete specific training as needed - Liaise with other groups within Garrett regarding new technologies
Experiência y requisitos
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related engineering discipline - 3+ years of experience with developing and/or launching products in the automotive or similar industry - 25% travel to manufacturing and/or customer sites Preferred experience and capabilities - Expertise in any or all of the following: turbomachinery, internal combustion engine, high speed electric motors, hydrogen fuel cell systems - Turbocharger-engine matching and/or 1D system analysis, GT-Power or similar - Comfortable dealing with our customers including engineering, sales, and management - Proficiency in business topics such as costing, pricing, and strategy - Ability to network internally & leverage other parts of the organization - CAD: CATIA V5 or OnShape experience - SAP or other ERP experience
