Job Description

**Location**: Hybrid working (two days a week minimum in London)

**Grade**: 9 (for internal purposes only)

**The Team**: The Power Pricing team analyses market activity and data and incorporates market knowledge into developing and publishing price assessments and cost-plus assessments that shall be used by clients. They also report on burgeoning spot market and forward market prices and the factors moving markets as they develop. The team is global and collaborative and engages with the market through various mediums, including commentaries, stories, podcasts, blogs, and videos. It is vital the team works across other content sectors such as generating fuels, oil and LNG.

**The Impact**: You’ll be part of a team that produces actionable and informative content in the fast-growing and hugely relevant Energy transition including Wind & Solar space. While early in the market development we aspire to have relevant benchmarks around the world that will be vital to our customers as they provide price transparency to physical markets. The content will inform customers regarding supply and demand developments, commodity flows, price trends, and infrastructure and regulatory issues and help develop a community around Platts Guarantees of Origin (GO’s) coverage.

Develop and maintain relationships with a broad base of industry contacts
Engage with contacts regarding pricing and methodology development
Build cross-commodity knowledge in Generating fuels, LNG, oil & power
Articulate expertise and thought leadership through a variety of media and regulatory bodies

**Responsibilities**:
Publish daily price assessments according to methodology
Drive development of new assessments in line with market developments
Inform the market through regional price commentaries, news coverage, podcast and other digital content describing key fundamental market drivers moving prices
Drive customer meetings to learn about important issues facing market participants and translate to new products or adjustments to Platts offerings
Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to Platts Editorial Standards
Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Platts electricity including GO’s offerings and ambitions

**What We’re Looking For**: We are looking for someone who is curious about energy markets, able to work within deadlines, and can handle multiple tasks. They should be responsible and accountable, and work to create a positive and collaborative work environment. It is vital they are adept at market engagement and comfortable representing Platts Renewable Energy including wind, solar and GOs externally in numerous ways.

**Basic Qualifications**:
3-5-year energy industry experience such as a reporting, writing, or analytical background
Working understanding of commodity markets

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Graduate degree in finance, journalism, or related sciences
Physical gas or generating fuels market knowledge
Price assessment experience
Understanding of renewable generation and capacity development
Comfortable to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Willing to work as part of a team
