ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
TelevisaUnivision Noticias is looking for a Video Journalist to join our Digital News Team

The Video Journalist will work with the Senior Editor to pitch, report and publish compelling photo and video stories that dive deep into issues affecting Hispanic communities in the U.S. and abroad.

The Video Journalist will have a keen eye for what makes for compelling visuals and lots of creativity. They’ll also have strong producing and reporting skills and experience reporting on sensitive topics such as immigration and trauma. They’ll be highly ethical and empathic when dealing with sources.

ABOUT YOU:
You’re passionate about news, visual storytelling and telling stories that matter to our Spanish-speaking audience, such as immigration, social and racial inequality, public health issues and human rights. You’re accustomed to doing field-work and producing.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

- Produce stories (research, call sources, find story angles, write treatments and pitches, exploratory and preliminary field trips).
- Travel to film and photograph stories of different lengths, from short-form to long-form stories.
- Edit photos and videos for breaking news and short-term projects.
- Be ready to assist with faster-paced news if required.

YOU HAVE:

- At least 3 years’ experience in visual journalism
- 3-5 years of experience filming with DSLR
- Experience in digital storytelling and digital video narratives.
- Canon and Sony cameras workflow.
- Basic studio lighting.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) required.
- Able to make quick decisions and give accurate and clear instructions, as well as verify information before publication.
- Ability to juggle heavy workload and keep multiple projects on track.
