**SUMMARY**:
As part of a data-driven organization, the Sr. Marketing Analyst will be part of a team that employs data to develop and present stories to drive Marketing and business strategies for AutoZone.

The Sr. Marketing Analyst will use data manipulation and data mining capabilities to support the analysis and reporting needs of the Marketing team, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership team members. This individual will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of a wide variety of customer data and research as well as generating reports, monitoring performance of the customer experience in stores and online, and making recommendations to improve departmental reporting and drive company EBIT. This individual will also assist with planning and forecasting sales, as directed by the Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights, and help provide strategic direction to Marketing through analysis of data and insights of AutoZone customer audiences to affect and improve the effectiveness of Marketing campaigns.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform expert data analysis that leads to decisions on optimizing marketing programs such as Loyalty, Media, and Promotions, as well as understanding how customers buy product categories from AutoZone.
- Prepare and present actionable insights to leadership and business teams, address critical questions, and drive channel sales, customer retention, and acquisition strategies.
- Generate actionable insights from data and effectively communicate recommendations to drive sales, customer engagement, and EBIT.
- Propose KPI metrics to track and understand the trends in retail, Loyalty and CRM business.
- Create and automate weekly, period, and quarterly reporting to understand the performances of different KPI metrics across different marketing channels.
- Assist in identifying statistical approaches and building models and reports to support business decisions.
- Define, measure, and report on key business performance metrics for current and new initiatives.
- Assist with forecasting sales for AutoZone Retail business, the allocation and optimization of media spend and target customers effectively using statistical methodologies.
- Perform ad hoc data analysis and communicate key insights to leadership and business stakeholders.
- Perform exploratory analysis on customer and transaction data along with competitive market data to identify new opportunities for business improvements.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data transfers between AutoZone and third parties to develop a comprehensive view of marketing performance.
- Ensure data integrity by leveraging proven methodologies, including data reconciliation/validation, data integration and data audits.
- Demonstrate effective communication - actively listening to the needs of others, internally and externally - to understand and provide accurate information or solutions, as well as organizational skills - prioritizing appropriately and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude.
- Convey complex analytics in an understandable way to non-executive and executive levels

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Level of formal education: BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related analytical degree. Master's degree is a plus.
- Area of study: in statistics, economics, business analytics, finance, etc. or equivalent professional experience in analytics, pricing, insights, consumer research, inventory, category management and/or business analysis.
- Years of experience: 5+ years of experience in Retail Analytics, Merchandising Analytics, Business Intelligence or Consumer Marketing with focus on data mining and preparing/presenting insights to cross-functional business partners, including Senior and Executive levels of leadership.
- Type of experience: Proficiency in query language (e.g., SQL or equivalent), statistical software (e.g., SAS, R or equivalent) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Experience with databases (RDBMS) and exposure to big data. Fluency in and/or understanding of AI platforms and AI techniques. Expertise in the use of MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Other/preferred: Solid understanding of and/or experience working with digital marketing channels, customer research, tag management systems, and analytical platform integrations is a plus. Experience in Retail and/or CPG industry is a plus
