The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, known by its Spanish acronym, CIMMYT®, is a not-for-profit agricultural research for development organization with partners in over 100 countries.

CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the temporary position of Geo-reference curator to organize, capture and curate received data in the germplasm bank department.

The position is based at CIMMYT’s campus in Texcoco, State of Mexico, located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico.

This position is temporary, for 6 months.

**Specific Duties**:

- Organize, capture and curate the received data, ensuring that it meets agreed quality standards.
- Assist the data capture & curating supervisor to organize the data sets for uploading to the database.
- Prepare or participate in the preparation of results of data analyses for publication on the respective websites.
- Compile and capture data for inclusion in institutional databases.
- Assist the data coordinator to capture the events and list of participants.
- Keep the databases assigned to the units updated to ensure reliable information for the consultation by researchers.
- Perform analyzes requiring the use of computer equipment and propose techniques that help to obtain better and faster results.
- Capture and verification of the data and information in the field books of international trials, events and trainings and the take care of the migration of data from the field books.
- Participate in activities taking place in the areas of preparation and distribution of material.
- Assist in carrying out tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

**Requirements**:

- 1 to 3 years of experience in similar position.
- English is not required but will represent an advantage.
