Responsible for all CAD design-related activity relative to product and tooling requirements for both external and internal customers. Also responsible for setting up routings and releasing work orders for all 1st run jobs.

**Duties & Tasks**:

- Coordinate and work with cross-functional teams to meet new and current customer demands and standards.
- Create manufacturing 2D drawings and 3D models for external and internal customers. These drawings and associated models will reflect parts and assemblies at each stage of the manufacturing process. The drawings will highlight critical characteristics and checkpoints specific to each step in the process.
- Design Tooling, Weld Fixtures, and Checking Fixtures using manual, automatic, and robotic clamping conditions.
- Evaluate and recommend cylinders, motors, and motion control devices related to moving parts on fixtures.
- Determine the manufacturing feasibility of new jobs and processes.
- Evaluate and Process both Internal and External Engineering Capabilities to verify other engineers’ 3D models and 2D drawings before they are released to manufacturing.
- Follow policies and procedures related to the quality management system for engineering.
- Work with Quality to ensure the control plan and PFEMA requirements are integrated into the manufacturing drawings.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent design or engineering experience.
- 3-5 years of experience using SolidWorks to design metal products for manufacturing.
- 5- 7 years of experience designing fixtures, tooling, and/or machines related to metal removal, assembly & welding.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing practices such as assembly, press brake, and laser cutting.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing metal products using sheet metal and welding
- Understands machine dynamics and can calculate stresses to evaluate the structural integrity of designs produced.
- Exposure to and/or use of FEA programs to analyze stress.
- Application knowledge of AWS symbols.
- Familiar with developing bills of material
- Good communicator, 85% English written and oral,
